Several months ago (I think it was early August, actually) I interviewed for a full-time regular position with Lexmark.  After much waiting, Lexmark finally offered me the position.  I accepted, of course, and officially start this morning.

Of course, I’ve been working at Lexmark as a “contract-to-hire contingent worker” for around five years now, so the whole thing is a bit anticlimactic.  After a few hours of orientation videos and paperwork, I’ll go back to my same desk, performing my same duties with the same co-workers and reporting to the same manager.

Yes, it’s all a bit ridiculous, but at this point I’m not complaining.  Now I just have to figure out what to do for the next hour since my start time today is a full hour after my usual time.
